| BRC Course Format
Course Days Courses are offered all year except on some holiday weekends. We are also closed for two weeks around Christmas and New Year. All courses cover the exact same material regardless
of where they are taught. All courses take the same amount of elapsed time
whether the riding is in the morning or the afternoon. Each course has a Classroom session followed by Range 1 then Range 2.
The one-weekend format is used during longer daylight hours. In Spring, Summer, and Autumn, riding sessions are run morning and afternoon to take advantage of longer days. The Classroom session will meet Monday OR Tuesday OR Wednesday evening, depending on how many courses are scheduled. Morning Range Group and Afternoon Range Group might take the Classroom together - or might be separated. The details will be on your confirmation letter. AM Range group PM Range group NOTE! Ending times are APPROXIMATE subject to student progress. Roll Call is not when the session starts. Roll Call is when you must be present to keep your seat. Think of the airlines – the flight time on your ticket is not when the plane takes off, it is when the boarding door closes. Even if you could see your seat is empty on the plane ... it is gone! Each training session is scheduled to take 5 hours, but actual time may vary due to student learning abilities. PM riding sessions are scheduled for thirty minutes after the morning session, but PM session roll call is early to be ready to start as soon as the break ends. Again, you must be present at Roll Call or your seat may be given away or left empty. Once you are scheduled into a morning or afternoon Range group, you will remain in that group for all riding sessions of the course.
The one-weekend format is used in late November and December. In Winter, because of fewer daylight hours, breaks are shorter and there is less time between sessions.
